Hope. Heal. Believe. Live.

“Vulnerability is not weakness. And that myth is profoundly dangerous.” Brene Brown

I am glad you are here!

By being here, you have taken the first step to care for yourself and beginning to heal your mental health. Whether this is the first time that you’re seeking out therapy or if you have done this before, the process can be intimidating and overwhelming, but you are not alone. My goal is to create an environment that allows for you to feel safe, validated, understood and empowered to tell your unique story, gain insight and live fuller and happier life.

It’s normal to occasionally feel sad, but depression goes much deeper. Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest and can interfere with your daily functioning.

Self-esteem begins to form in early childhood. Every day we face messages of how to be “good” and “successful.” These messages either boost our self-worth, or tear it down. From a young age, we begin to link our self-worth to careers, relationships, and appearance.Low self-esteem can negatively affect virtually every facet of your life, including your relationships, your job and your health.

As time passes, couples often find they have grown apart, leaving them feeling unsatisfied , and frustrated with how things are. It’s often said that relationships takes hard work and it is true. Relationships take time and effort to cultivate, no matter how long you’ve been together. They go through seasons, they change, and they can be greatly affected by our own personal growth and change as well as what’s happening in the world at large.

What People Are Saying Abut Me….

“I was a patient for two years, and the counseling I received has changed my life. It has helped my interpersonal relationships and has given me tools for my own mental health that I can take with me and apply anytime, anywhere. She is kind, professional and well-skilled, and I would send any close friend or relative to receive help from her.”

“Ms. Gizachew is a gifted counselor, the guidance she provided to me has made a huge difference in my life. She is kind, easy to talk to and has a wonderful ability to help you to see situations from a different perspective. I am grateful to have had her as my therapist.”

Heather S.

“Honestly I can’t say enough good things about Ms. Gizachew! I have learned so much from her about how best to cope with everything life is throwing at me. She uses techniques that are memorable and fairly easy to implement in my daily life. On top of her knowledge and skill set, she also just really seems to care about her patients. Even after I moved to another state, she took the time to reach out and check in. I would absolutely recommend Nu Counseling Services!”

“Miss G. supported our family as our child's therapist. She worked diligently with our son, always providing the perspective and tools he needs to thrive and overcome challenges -- no matter the situation, my son came away with support and wisdom. He has so many tools that he uses regularly, and that our whole family has adopted (which have helped my husband and I evolve as parents). Miss G. has helped our son grow and mature and gain confidence in so many ways! I cannot say enough good things about her practice and the support you feel during and even outside of appointments. Our family is so grateful to have worked with her.”
