Couples Therapy

As time passes, couples often find they have grown apart, leaving them feeling unsatisfied, without love, joy or a feeling of connection. Worst yet, there is abuse, betrayal, infidelity or neglect. As the relationship suffers and struggles, you may feel sadness and grief at the loss. The sense that the relationship is slipping away can cause you to feel anxious, depressed, fearful, and guilty. No matter how hurt, angry or confused you are, there’s still hope; hope to rekindle the fire, get back what brought you together, bring love, respect and unified goals. In a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental setting, couples therapy can help you to explore and uncover the real issues at play and work to resolve the emotional wounds of the past, respond to the challenges of daily life, and express your emotions in ways that are useful and constructive.

Benefits of couple counseling

  • Greater insight into the real problems beneath repetitive arguments or tensions.

  • Deeper understanding and empathy for your partner’s needs and feelings

  • Trust in your partner to listen and hear your message (even when it is difficult)

  • Trust in yourself to express your needs and feelings in a way that gets heard.

  • An increased sense of physical and emotional safety

  • A renewed wish for physical and emotional intimacy

  • The knowledge that you can work through conflict to strengthen the bond

  • A feeling of durability (“If we made it through this, we can make it through future challenges.”)
